RenewingFaith—Supporting Ministry Beyond Faith Lutheran Church

An important goal of the RenewingFaith capital campaign is to honor Faith’s tradition of tithing to ministry causes beyond our congregation. We intend to continue this standing practice by directing 10 percent of funds raised through RenewingFaith to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) 25th anniversary campaign, Always Being Made New: The Campaign for the ELCA.

Always Being Made New: The Campaign for the ELCA is a five-year initiative approved by the 2013 ELCA Churchwide Assembly. The goal of raising nearly $200 million represents a 64 percent increase in designated funding for local, regional, and church ministries around the world. Funds raised will be applied to the following priorities:

Congregations
     Renewing Congregations   $8 million
     ELCA New Congregations   $4 million
     Disability Ministries   $4 million

Leadership
ELCA Fund for Leaders $15 million
Youth and Young Adults   $4 million

Hunger and Poverty
      ELCA World Hunger $115 million
      ELCA Malaria Campaign   $15 million

Global Church
     Missionaries/Global Mission $22 million
     Global Ministries   $7 million
     International Leaders-Women   $4 million

Making an Impact

The timing of the RenewingFaith capital campaign aligns Faith’s goal of ministering beyond our congregation with the ELCA’s goal to increase funding for new and existing ministry initiatives. Our collective support will help to fund these most important programs throughout the world.

If you have questions regarding the ELCA campaign or are interested in more information about how to make additional cash or planned gifts, please do not hesitate to contact Faith and the ELCA campaign steering committee members Bob and Becky Shaw.
