Equal Exchange Fairly Traded

Lutheran World Relief Coffee Project

"It's like drinking a cup of justice, and justice can taste outstanding. Our fellowship has grown from 30 to 75 minutes and the only thing that has changed is the coffee we serve and LWR's endorsement of it." - Pastor Timothy Bernard Messiah Lutheran Church Marquette, MI

ImageThrough the LWR COFFEE PROJECT, our congregation can enjoy delicious coffee, tea and cocoa while helping small-scale farmers in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the U.S. as they build a better future for themselves and their families.

Through the project, farmers earn a fair price for their products, have access to affordable credit, and gain a long-term trading partner they can trust, a Fair Trade Organization called Equal Exchange.

With your support, these communities invest in education, health care, and agricultural improvements.

In addition, for each pound of coffee, tea, or cocoa purchased by Lutheran churches through the project, Equal Exchange makes a contribution to the LWR "Small Farmer Fund" for projects supporting small farmers and their families.

100% of Equal Exchange’s coffee, tea and chocolate products are fairly traded.
