Jesus Justice Jazz, the theme for the 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering, draws from the rich faith history, diverse cultures, and arts of New Orleans. It will stretch our understanding of what it means to live in relationship and service with each other in the manner of Christ... for life... wherever we are!


Letter from Angie.

Dear Senior High Student and Parents,

 

You’re probably saying to yourself, “National Youth Gathering 2009 trip, I haven’t even gotten through this summer yet, how can we be thinking about summer 2009?!”  The reality is that the ELCA has been working hard to prepare for your NYG 2009 trip to New Orleans for three years.  On July 22 – 26, 2009, 36,000 youth will gather together in New Orleans for a time of worship, Bible study, service, and play; all shaped around the theme Jesus – Justice – Jazz.   Faith’s trip will be from July 20 – 27, 2009.  Registration for the limited amount of space for the Gathering begins on September 15.  Estimating that we’ll be taking a very large group from Faith, it is imperative that we register on that date. I’ll be hunched over my computer getting all of us registered that morning! 

 

We will have an informational meeting about the National Youth Gathering on
Sunday, August17th, at 11:00 in the Gathering Room.

 

Please be there.  If you are unable to attend and are still interested in attending the National Youth Gathering please contact me for further details.
